Movistar+ premieres the series “The Responder”, a police drama with Martin Freeman

Madrid. Movistar+ will premiere on January 31 “The Responder”, a BBC police drama mini-series starring Martin Freeman and inspired by the true experiences of ex-cop and writer Tony Schumacher.

The protagonist of “The Lord of the Rings” and the series “Fargo” plays a policeman who patrols the dangerous streets of Liverpool at night, along with a rookie partner (Adelayo Adedayo).

The plot, in five episodes, unfolds over a week of increasingly tense night shifts that will change their lives.

Chris (Freeman) is an offbeat, morally committed guy who battles crime, violence and addiction night after night while battling personal demons that threaten to destabilize his job, his marriage and his mental health.

The tension grows when the policeman decides to protect a young drug addict who is on the run from a thug for the theft of an important stash of cocaine.
