Oreo celebrates its 110th anniversary with new cookie and limited edition merch



Oreo is celebrating its 110th anniversary with new cookie flavor and a limited edition merchandise collection which includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, joggers and footwear.

The new Oreos are called Chocolate Confetti Cake. These chocolate chip cookies are the classic Oreo cookies but with a twist. They have double filling, one cream flavored with chocolate cake and the other cream has its characteristic flavor. They are also sprinkled with colored sprinkles in and on the cookie.

Oreo turns 110 on March 6, but the limited edition holiday cookie is now on sale on their website and in retail stores it will be available starting January 31.

America’s favorite cookie was first sold on that date in 1912 by the National Biscuit Company to a grocery store in Hoboken, New Jersey.

“For more than a century, Oreo has provided fun and playful experiences for fans and we will continue to do so as we celebrate our 110th birthday,” said Sydney Kranzmann, brand manager for Oreo in the United States.

Kranzmann also said that the celebration of its 110th anniversary is inspired by the magical moment of the birthday that spans generations and cultures. “When you close your eyes, you blow out the candles and make a wish.”

Apparel brand Champion has partnered with Oreo to launch a limited-edition merchandise collection in honor of the cookies’ 110th birthday.
