“Parallel Mothers” by Pedro Almodóvar and Javier Bardem, nominated for the 2022 Golden Globes

“Parallel mothers” from Pedro Almodovar, nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, Javier Bardem, who is competing for the award for the best leading actor in a dramatic film for “Being the Ricardos”, and Alberto Iglesias placeholder image, candidate for the award for best music for the soundtrack of “Parallel Mothers”, are among the nominees for the 2022 Golden Globes.

The award ceremony of the 79th edition of the awards given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) will be held on January 9th.

Bardem, who thus gets his fifth nomination for these awards, will compete for the Golden Globe with Benedict Cumberbatch, nominated for “The Power of the Dog”; Will Smith, candidate for “The Williams Method”; Mahershala Ali, nominated for “The Swan Song”; Y Denzel Washington for “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” The Spanish actor already has a Golden Globe, for best supporting actor, for his role in “No Country for Old Men” by the Coen brothers.

For its part, Almodóvar’s “Parallel Mothers” will compete for the Golden Globe for the best foreign language film with “Compartment No. 6″ By Juho Kuosmanen (Finland), “Drive My Car”By Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (Japan),“It was the hand of God”By Paolo Sorrentino (Italy) and“To hero”By Asghar Farhadi (Iran).

This is the ninth nomination for Almodóvar who already opted for this award with his films “Women on the edge of a nervous breakdown”, “Far heels”, “All about my mother”, “Talk to her”, “Back”, “Broken hugs”, “The skin I live “and” Pain and glory. ” On two occasions, the manchego won the award, in the 2000 ceremony for “All about my mother”, and two years later, in 2003, for “Talk to her.”

The nominees for best musical or comedy film were: the apocalyptic comedy of Adam McKay “Don’t Look Up”, the comedy by Paul Thomas Anderson located in the San Fernando Valley during the 70’s “Licorice Pizza”, “West Side Story” by Steven spielberg, “Tick, Tick … Boom!” from Lin-Manuel Miranda and “Cyrano” by Joe Wright.

“Belfast” and “The Power of the Dog” tied with seven nominations each. Netflix dominated the cinema sections with a total of 17 mentions. “Succession” by Hbo He led the television side with five nominations, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.
