The amount paid is the highest so far this year in the downtown area, although it is well below the target figure three years ago, when its then owners announced it in $ 65 million dollars.
Despite its high economic pretensions, the crisis caused by the coronavirus led its previous owners to reconsider their position and accept the $ 35.1 million that were offered to them in September 2020.
A year later and after a series of improvements, the penthouse was sold again, but now for $ 49 million.
The identity of the new owner is a mystery, as he carried out the operation through a shell company with address in Palo Alto, California, although it is said that he could be a tech mogul.
The apartment, which has an area of 8,000 square feet and is located inside a building dating from 1878, has four bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
It also has a lobby, two kitchens, a breakfast room, two dining rooms, a living room, a main room, a TV room, a games room, a gym, an office, a library, a private elevator, a room laundry, among other rooms.
The main kitchen is closed and quite spacious. It is equipped with gray cabinets, with high-end appliances, with a central island lined in granite, with a fireplace and still has space for a pre-dining table for 12 people.
The master bedroom, which occupies the entire second floor of the house, has more than enough space for a large bed and a living room. It also has a fireplace, a private terrace, a very large dressing room and a bathroom covered in marble with a vanity, a bathtub and a shower with a transparent screen.
