A man from South Carolina won over $100,000 after trying a trading strategy lottery which he said was inspired by an episode of TLC’s “Lottery Changed My Life” television show.
The strategy was to spend $25 a week for three months playing the lottery. During the first week, the lottery player earned $500. But in week seven, taking home $100,000.
The biggest prize came on May 28 when he played a Powerball lottery ticket.
He initially thought he had won $50,000 by matching two numbers, but luckily his wife double-checked and helped him confirm that he matched four out of five white-ball numbers and the red Powerball which increased the prize.
“I didn’t even know how to play Powerball,” the lucky winner told South Carolina Lottery officials.
After his consecutive victories, he bought a new car. He also said that he would stick to his plan and continue to buy lottery tickets during the three months.

According to the South Carolina Lottery, the odds of matching four white-ball numbers and the red Powerball are 1 in 913,129.
