Despite his prosperous career, the eyes of the world are on ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and what will be his next fight against Gennady Golovkin and many assure that said fight will be the most important in the Guadalajara’s career. As stated by the president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán, who highlighted the importance that the fight will have.

And it is that Sulaimán assured that for ‘Canelo’ there is a lot at stake, since he comes from losing against Bivolso if his career falls again he will not be able to resurface and he would cease to be one of the great figures in the world of boxing as he is now.

It weighed a lot on Canelo (losing against Bivol) and if he loses to Golovkin on September 17, I see it as very difficult for his career resurface to the levels it had (…) He took a very big risk by gaining weight to face an undefeated World Champion, he lost and now everything is at stake against Golovkin”, Sulaiman said in a chat with the journalist Toño de Valdés.

Finally, Sulaimán spoke about the criticism that ‘Canelo’ receives daily and lamented that there are so many compatriots who want to see him lose, since He highlighted that he is not only a great boxer, but he is also a great person who helps people whenever he has the opportunity.

“He is a Mexican who has never been in a scandal, who has helped many people with positive actions, many times without saying so, but he has a great love for others, he is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. Instead of Mexicans supporting him and being proud, there are still people who criticize him.”Sulaiman sentenced.
