Price of the dollar today September 20: how much is it trading for in Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela

Today, Tuesday, the dollar continues to perform well in emerging markets, even gaining ground against the Mexican peso. Remember that there are Fed monetary policy announcements this week, and analysts expect an upward adjustment of the central bank’s rates. It is almost certain that Jerome Powell will announce a rate hike of 0.75%, but other analysts expect an increase of up to 100 basis points.

We begin with the Mexican peso in the exchange rate, which again depreciated against the dollar by up to 9 cents. The greenback was trading in the early hours of the morning at 20.02 pesos per dollar unit. The exchange rate for purchase at bank counters is 19.76 pesos per dollar unit and 20.28 pesos for sale.

In the Honduran exchange market, the U.S. currency is quoted at an average price of 24.67 lempiras per greenback unit, with an upward trend. The average price today moves between 24.54 and 20.80 lempiras per dollar.

In Nicaragua, the dollar is quoted at an average price of 35.94 córdobas per greenback unit, with an upward trend. For the dollar purchase and sale, the day range moves between 35.88 córdobas and 36.00 córdobas per dollar, respectively.

In Costa Rica, the dollar appreciated this morning and trades for 629.35 colones per unit. In banks, the dollar price range remains at 627.00 for purchase and 631.70 colones per dollar for sale.

Today, the US currency in the Dominican market is quoted at 53.43 DOP per dollar unit. The exchange rate remains stable at the beginning of the day, with an average price for purchase and sale calculated at 53.23 and 53.58 DOP per dollar unit, respectively. The trend is positive for the dollar.

In Venezuela, the dollar is gaining ground and trades for 8.01 bolivars per dollar unit, the average range is 8.00 and 8.02 Bs. per greenback for buying and selling, respectively.

The digital currencies market Bitcoin remains below the $20,000 barrier and continues to depreciate daily. For its part, Ethereum has begun to appreciate today.
