Facebook allows you to easily download videos to store them on your computer without the use of any type of program.

There are many ideal applications to download videos from Facebook, but there is also a direct download method that seems not to be available. However it is, and that method consists simply of changing the URL of the video so that the page redirects to a simpler version of the application, a version that allows this type of downloads in all the videos that appear at the beginning. The process is really simple and only consists of a few steps to be able to store the video in the files of our device:

1. Log in to Facebook and locate the video you want to download. Click on the three dots located in the upper right corner, a button for configuring the display of these types of publications. Choose the option “Copy link”, paste it into the address bar of a new tab and then press the “Enter” key.

2. An enlarged view of the video will be displayed, taking up most of the screen. Go to the address bar and change “www” to “mbasic”. Then press the “Enter” key.

3. Once the “Enter” key is pressed, a simpler version of the video will be displayed on Facebook, similar to the publications of the early days of this application. It will be necessary to play the video in order to download it.

4. When you start playing, Facebook will open a window with a black background to play the video. It is in that window where the download process will begin, by clicking again on the button identified with the three dots that is located in the lower right corner.

5. A very brief menu will appear, consisting of only three options related to playback. The first one is the direct download option and it is the one that must be clicked to get the video.

6. The download will start immediately and the process can be seen in the lower left corner as if it were a downloaded photo or document. Once finished, only the containing folder should be opened (normally these files go to the “Downloads” folder) to be able to play the video directly on the computer, without having to be online or using Facebook.
