The jailer who killed herself after being intercepted by authorities in Indiana after fleeing with an inmate she helped escape from an Alabama prison went to a sex toy store and bought men’s clothing before fleeing.
Marty Keely, a federal marshal who led the search for the fugitives, revealed details of the preparations before the escape to the Associated Press news agency.

The search for Casey and Vicky White began on April 29 when the woman picked up the prisoner at the Florence Correctional Facility in Lauderdale County. to supposedly take him for a psychological evaluation.

However, the above never materialized, and both fled to an unknown whereabouts until they were captured this Monday after a chase in which Vicky, 56, shot herself in the head when agents approached the vehicle in which they were.

The AP report indicates that the first major advance in the case was reported after a colleague of Vicky’s in prison told authorities that the correctional guard asked to be picked up at a sporting goods store in Florence. Supposedly, the suicide bomber claimed that she had left the bags inside the car and she needed someone to take her back to work.

That would have been the space in which Vicky and her protégé boarded a Ford Edge truck that the woman would have bought in cash days before.

When police arrived at the scene, they came across the vehicle in which Vicky took Casey, 38, out of prison, abandoned in the store’s parking lot.

According to Keely, prior to the escape, Vicky shopped for men’s clothing at a Kohl’s department store and also stopped at a sex toy store.

It is unclear if he purchased any items from the latter establishment.

Previously, Vicky had sold her house for $95,000well below the market price, and had requested withdrawal.

The day he ran away was the last day he had to work at the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Additional, the woman bought an AR-15 assault rifle and a shotgun, weapons that were added to a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and a .45 caliber.
