As confirmed by FORO TV, the renowned journalist, radio announcer, and television host Talina Fernández passed away today at 78. Known throughout her career as The Lady of Good Saying (La Dama Del Buen Decir), Catalina María del Sagrado Corazón Fernández-Veró Vela, Talina’s full name, became one of the most recognized communicators on Mexican television, largely due to her work on morning shows, both informative and magazine, on Televisa, where she was one of the founders of the Hoy program.
Talina Fernández dies at the age of 78
On the afternoon of June 28, the producer Coco Levy confirmed that her mother, Talina Fernández, was hospitalized, for which the journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante affirmed that he had first-hand information indicating that the driver was living her last moments. Finally, the driver died today due to leukemia, according to versions not yet confirmed by her family.
In addition to Coco Levy and her two daughters, Talina is survived by her son Patricio Levy Fernández and their children, in addition to his grandchildren María, José Emilio, and Paula, children of Mariana Levy.

Who was Talina Fernandez?
Talina Fernández, whose nickname was ‘La Dama Del Buen Decir’ (the lady of good speech) due to her way of expressing herself on television programs, was born in 1944 in Mexico City. From an early age, she became interested in the entertainment industry, where she forged over 50 years of career.
She lived in the United States for a while before returning to Mexico to study at the National Institute of Cardiology. However, she did not finish her career in the health area, as she wanted to devote herself to acting.
She was discovered by Argentinean actor Raúl Astor, who invited her to participate in the program La Cosquilla (1970), where she made her debut.

Two years later, Fernandez debuted as an actress on the small screen with the telenovela Las Gemelas (1972). From that moment on, the actress’ popularity grew, and she began to appear in other productions such as Mi pequeña Soledad (1990), and Tenías que ser tú (1992), among others.
In the early 2000s, Talina Fernández moved from acting to hosting with the program Hasta las mejores familias, a production in which she shared credits with Carmen Salinas. Two years later, she appeared in the show Nuestra Casa in the company of her daughter Mariana Levy, who passed away in 2005.
Talina continues with her work in the entertainment industry. In 2020 she joined the show Sale el Sol, but she left the program two years later. She was also one of the contestants of Master Chef Mexico in 2020. She had her own Youtube channel where she shared interviews and anecdotes about her personal life.

However, one of the most remembered episodes of his professional career occurred in 1994, the year of the presidential elections in Mexico. At that time, the host lived and worked in Tijuana, Baja, California, so she was covering live the murder of Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta, PRI presidential candidate, who was shot at in the Lomas Taurinas neighborhood.
Talina Fernández confirmed on the air, in connection with Jacobo Zabludovsky ‘s newscast, that Colosio had died. Talina was a personal friend of Diana Laura Riojas de Colosio, wife of the candidate. For this reason, she had access to the hospital where Luis Donaldo was taken after the attack.
