Target will hire up to 100,000 employees to cater for the holiday season

Target Corporation announced that it is preparing to hire up to 100,000 seasonal team membersto help customers check off everything on their holiday lists, with same-day delivery services throughout the season.

Target team members will focus on keeping stores stocked and organized, helping guests easily locate and purchase all of their items holiday essentials, provide same-day fulfillment services, pack, ship orders, and more.

At the beginning of this year, Target announced a new starting salary range of $15 to $24 per hourwhich positions it as an option for people who want to find a job this season.

Team members, including seasonal hires, will have access to flexible hours, employee benefits, staff discounts and more.

As in previous years, Target says it will continue to work with current team members first. to provide them with the desired hours and schedules during the holidays.

Target notes that on average, more than 30% of the team members who are hired as seasonal workers stay to work in the company permanently.

The retailer said in a statement to the media that savings start October 6-8 with the return of Target Deal Dayswhich offers guests the earliest access to holiday deals on everyday items, without paying for a membership.

“We launch deals earlier than ever and make sure our team is ready to help our guests shop when and how they want. Throughout the season, guests will discover new and unique items to gift and collect… they can expect great deals and low prices every day at all times for an unparalleled holiday shopping experience,” said Christina Hennington, executive vice president and chief growth officer for Target.

Target notes that this year, The Holiday Price Match Guarantee will run from October 6 through December 24. That means customers can choose to shop early with confidence knowing that if the price drops at Target later in the season, the retailer will match it.
