The poor results and poor level of play of the Mexican team is the subject of debate in the fans in recent days, as well as the demand for the dismissal of coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino.

In the last three games, El Tri revealed many shortcomings in many areas of the game; despite having defeated Nigeria 2-1, against the Africans it was not an XI of bright and confident players, but rather a game won by the hazards of football.

Then came the worst fall humiliated against Uruguay 3-0 and the goalless draw against Ecuador. In the first clash the worst of the team was seen: without capable strikers, non-existent contention and very soft defense.

Against the Ecuadorians, despite the fact that there were aspects of the game that improved, such as the start and association in attack, in addition to a more confident Guillermo ‘Memo’ Ochoa under the sticks, the players were criticized for the little or no effort shown at Soldier Field in Chicago.

For these reasons, Tata’s work is being questioned more than ever and even Through social networks, the label #FueraTata was positioned.

In recent days it was speculated that the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) He already had a replacement for him, the current coach of the Tuzos del Pachuca, Guillermo Almada. The strategist himself, also of Argentine nationality, admitted having had contacts with the organization: “We are proud that a team as prestigious as Mexico’s takes us into account, because they have stated so, when the Tata Martino process is over, we are in a list of two or three candidates, something that does make us proud”.

But the journalist TUDN, Francis Arredondoreported from sources consulted within the FMF that there are no intentions -yet- to replace Tata Martino from the El Tri bench.

Now it has been Yon de Luisa himself, in an activity carried out on Monday on the commitment of the selected team to the environment, who had to be assertive and declare on this subject.

Although he stressed what the act was about and that answering that question (about whether Martino would be fired) was not correct, he hinted at a next action:

“The team remains focused and whenever it is focused we have our protocols and the only one who speaks is the technical director. So we can talk with great pleasure, but when they finish their participation, it is this window that includes the Nations League”

Therefore, if Gerardo Martino remains Mexico’s coach until the 2022 Qatar World Cup, it will be known after the Concacaf Nations League. Expectation grows around El Tri.
