Christian Acosta talks about his new Platino Radio platform in DJ Mode
Platinum Radio in DJ Mode is a listening experience that combines music with commentary from artists and presenters, bringing fans even closer to the music they love. Acosta was invited by Alejandro Sanz to join the music legend on stage to sing his hit song, ‘No Es Lo Same’, at his Mexico City concert, in front of 30,000 sold-out fans. Following the success of his second single, “Dame de Beber,” Acosta is scheduled to release his third musical single in 2021. Now the artist speaks exclusively to Hispanic World on how he has come forward in his career and in his health.
Christian Acosta Platino Radio: Tell me about this new project you’re in?
“I tell you that Platino Radio in DJ Mode is an evolution of what is a playlist that we already know and that we listen to every day, our music is through playlists. What Platino Radio DJ Mode does is it takes you to that next level with information about the song, very interesting anecdotes about how the song was created, how certain artists got together to collaborate, how they recorded the music video. That information that not only I as a host will be giving, also from the artists who also participate and who make their exclusive stories. Although you were born in the United States, your blood is Latin because of your Colombian parents. Do you think that is an advantage? What do you like most about having that Latin blood?
“I think it is an advantage today. At the beginning of my career maybe not. Several years ago, the fact of being, let’s say, American, and I posted this on my social media a few days ago. The fact of being very American for the Latin market or very Latin for the American market is sometimes. Before it was seen as something negative ”.
“Today, rather, it is what has given me all those opportunities and I have always been proudly Latino and proudly American at the same time. What is your next goal to meet?

How do you do to take your career and keep growing?
“Well, no complications. I think that what it is to keep working and keep fighting, because what people see obviously that is all beautiful when one is already at the top, when one already has the television program or when one is already there driving with the music. . Obviously what is not seen is all the effort, the tears, the trips at three in the morning without being able to sleep in the air and without being able to be with his family ”.
“But I love it. I mean, that’s why I got into this world and I’ve struggled a lot to let it go like nothing. And I think it’s good energy. Besides, I try to avoid controversies and that negative energy. I had cancer as a child then. In other words, life is a gift. The truth is that I celebrate it every day, I don’t stress, I had a great time. And I’m trying to achieve everything I can while I’m here. “
As a cancer survivor, what would you say to those people who are still fighting the disease?
What a lot of strength. It’s the only thing I can say, because the most important thing is that positive energy. And that is very hard. It is very difficult. I see what my parents went through. Obviously I was the one with cancer, but I see what the parents went through, because to my half as a child I say I do not know how my parents did it, that is, being in the United States of immigrants and I do not know how they managed in that situation.
They are my heroes with all of this. So family and positive energy is what I recommend the most and not to anyone who is going through a difficult time. Like something like that.
