
Burger King and McDonald’s are two of the largest fast food hamburger chains in the world. However, currently neither would be considered the best among Americans, this according to a survey conducted by Mashed.
The Mashed poll result would not be the first to leave Burger King and McDonald’s out of top-rated fast food restaurants. In a previous big report, these two popular chains also fell out of the top spots.
Mashed surveyed 600 hamburger fans to find out which chain they considered made the best hamburgers. According to the respondents, the best chain is Five Guys, obtaining 27.8% of the votes.
The second highest rated chain in Mashed’s survey was In-N-Out, which obtained 21.72% of the votes, while in third place was Red Robin, with 18.7% of the votes. The remainder of the percentage was divided between Steak ‘n Shake with 12.7% of the votes, Whataburger with 10.2% and Shake Shack with 8.6%.
McDonald’s ranks last on list
Burger King and McDonald’s weren’t just out of the favorite chains in the Mashed survey. These two restaurants were also not considered among the best favorite fast food restaurant chain on a large survey conducted by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) in which 19,000 people participated.
In the ACSI survey conducted between April 1, 2020 and March 29, 2021, customers rated food chains based on their order accuracy, food variety and quality, restaurant cleanliness, friendliness of staff and satisfaction with their digital services such as mobile applications.
With a score of 83 out of 100 Chick-fil-A ranked first for the fifth year in a row. The second place was occupied by Domino’s with 80 points; the third place went to KFC with 79 points; fourth place went to Starbucks with 79 points; and fifth place went to Five Guys took fifth place with 78 points beating popular burger chains such as Burger King, McDonald’s and Wendy’s.
