Music occupies a central place in the Pirelli 2022 calendar presented this Monday, immortalized by Canadian photographer and rocker Bryan Adams.
However, he was unable to tell his version of the famous calendar in person in Milan after testing positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Italy last week. Instead, the 62-year-old singer joined the press conference remotely via video.
Called “On the road”, the calendar seeks to represent a day in the life of a touring musician.
Its cover shows guitarist and singer St. Vincent posing with a Pirelli guitar pick on her tongue. It also includes images of Cher and Iggy Pop in the dressing rooms, Rita Ora in the bathroom, rapper Saweetie pushing a luggage cart, and Hudson surrounded by flowers.

Rapper Bohan Phoenix poses at a piano as the photo of musician Grimes unfolds in a futuristic setting. Adams, who took the photos in Los Angeles, Capri and Canada last summer, also appears.
“With all these images, fantasy plays an important role in trying to create something ”, it said in a statement. “Because you don’t want it to be literal, you want it to be glamorous, but it gives the impression of how it could be.”

Adams said last week that he had tested positive for COVID-19 after flying to Milan and going to the hospital. It is the second time in a month that he has tested positive for the virus. He has since posted photos thanking the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
Adams is known for songs like “Summer of ’69”, “Heaven” and “(Everything I do) I do it for you”.

As a photographer, he has portrayed Mick Jagger and Naomi Campbell, as well as Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. He has also published books with his photos, including one about wounded British soldiers.

First published in the 1960s, the Pirelli calendar has a limited edition and is often gifted to the company’s customers. In recent years, It has gone from presenting images of scantily clad models to more artistic themes, starring various celebrities.
The 2021 edition was suspended due to the pandemic.
