The increase in coronavirus infections continues in Yucatán

Once again, the increase in contagions for coronavirus in Yucatan, after the Ministry of Health (SSY) reported 48 new infections and the death of a patient from Covid-19.

Of the new infections, 46 were registered in Mérida, one in Conkal and Motul.

Mérida registers 46 new infections. 37 patients admitted to public hospitals are reported.

According to data provided by the authorities, with these new infections, Yucatan adds 77 thousand 828 cases since the health emergency began, of which 71,031 patients have already been recovered.

Currently the Yucatecan capital reports 47 thousand 580 infected people until December 29, with the cases being distributed as follows:

  • 12,284 cases in the northern zone.
  • 11,738 cases in the eastern zone.
  • 4,645 cases in the downtown area.
  • 7,351 cases in the southern zone.
  • 11 thousand 562 cases in the western area.

One more patient dies from coronavirus

37 patients admitted to public hospitals are reported.

Unfortunately in this medical part, the SSY reported the death of a patient who lost the battle against Covid-19:

  • A 67-year-old woman from Mérida with a history of diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension.

With these deaths There are already 6,484 people dead since the health emergency began in Yucatan, according to the SSY.

Currently reported 276 infected patients, which are isolated and monitored in their homes by SSY personnel with mild symptoms, while 37 patients are admitted to public hospitals in Yucatan.

It should be remembered that in its medical part the SSY reported that Yucatan registered a suspected case of the omicron variant of the coronavirus, however, the result of the Institute for Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference is being awaited.
