During the last few hours, Pepe Aguilar’s name has topped the trending lists in different digital platforms because during a press conference he confronted a journalist who questioned Ángela Aguilar about the controversies that supposedly led her to think about retiring from music, for which the singer was accused of being an overprotective father.

Romance with Gussy Lau
As is well known, Ángela Aguilar’s first big scandal was when her romance with composer Gussy Lau, who is older than her by 15 years, was uncovered. After all the commotion that ensued, Pepe Aguilar made a family trip to Europe, and once he was in France, he took advantage of the Arc de Triomphe to ensure that it was precisely where he was taking all the criticism.
However, on his return, he said he did not know what would happen with the working relationship he had with his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, however, everything seems to indicate that they no longer continued collaborating together.

In May 2021, Ángela Aguilar was in charge of singing the national anthem prior to a fight with Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez. After Argentina’s championship in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Ángela Aguilar celebrated because she pointed out that she is 25% Argentinean and immediately began to receive criticism, to which she did not respond.
Still, Pepe Aguilar came out to face the comments of her detractors. He called them “argüenderos” and explained that his daughter does have Argentinean blood running in her veins since her maternal grandmother is originally from Buenos Aires. In the broadcast, he assured that he would not tolerate any more attacks against his family and pointed out that “they messed with the lion.”
