Last Wednesday, Nassau County Fire Rescue authorities in New York reported the death of 19-year-old Susan Giovanniello after the end of her shift. According to a statement from the Fire Chief, the young woman died of an unspecified medical condition, which baffles Giovanniello’s family and friends.

“Her enthusiasm for training and teamwork with the Corps will be greatly missed,” the City of Glen Cove EMS release stated, in dedication to the young woman who had a little more than a year on the job. “She is a hero and will live in our hearts forever,” read the comments.

In addition, her family and friends described Giovanniello with an infectious smile and a calm demeanor in more critical situations when treating a patient in a serious condition. So far, the exact cause of death of the young woman is not known.
