There will be no pretexts to renew leaderships in 67 unions in Quintana Roo

With a total of 67 unions in the state of Quintana Roo that have been identified by the Ministry of Labor and Social SecurityFor the renewal of its leadership, the head of the state agency, Catalina Portillo Navarro, indicated that there will be no pretext for these actions to be carried out.

It determined that since the previous year, derived from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Federal Government issued a decree for the unions to postpone the change of their leadership. This was generated due to compliance with respect for health security, with the aim of avoiding infections.

Portillo Navarro, said that in Quintana Roo There are approximately 500 trade union groups, of which 67 did not carry out proselytizing acts for the change of their directives, under the argument of the health emergency.

“With the green color of the epidemiological traffic light, we have the conditions to carry out these activities,” he said.

It will be through the union committees themselves who determine, through their assemblies, the date for their realization and execution of the election of their leaderships.

He stressed that with an epidemiological traffic light in green, there is no pretext for not holding the elections, at least on the issue of the pandemic due to Covid-19.

“They can call and develop the assemblies as established by their statutes for the election of their general secretaries,” he said.

He described that before this cancellation of the election processes of union leaders, some management periods were fulfilled, so that some unions remain headless.

He added that it will be the Local Board of Conciliation and Arbitration (JLCA) and the Local Court of Conciliation and Arbitration, which will monitor the election processes.

Finally, he said that so far there is no group at the door that has its assembly scheduled to elect its leadership.
