An alleged member of a network dedicated to the commercialization and production of child pornographic content and sexual exploitation of minors through electronic means was arrested in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the Public Ministry reported this Saturday.
The accused was identified by the authorities as Johannes Wilhelm Streese Suárez, 21 years old.
He is accused of “producing and reproducing photographs and videos of minors for sexual exploitation” through a messaging site that operated in the Dominican Republic and the United States, in addition to sharing links to the same content, according to a statement from the Public Ministry.
The Santiago Prosecutor’s Office requested the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services to impose preventive detention against the arrested person.
The investigation against Streese Suárez began after an alert from the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of Philadelphia, United States, an organization linked to the electronic patrolling of these crimes, which made it possible to detect the IP addresses used by the network to commit the crimes.
