The leader of Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in ColimaAldrin Miguel Jarquín Jarquín, alias ‘El Chaparrito’, was captured in Zapopan, Jaliscoby elements of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in coordination with infantry elements of the Mexican Navy (Semar).
This morning, the elements of naval intelligence carried out various searches in the Zapopan municipality in order to stop this priority objective of the organized crime.
According to sources from the Security Cabinet of the Federal Government, “El Chaparrito” kept control from the port of Manzanillo, Colima, for the introduction of narcotic drugs and chemical precursors for the CJNG.
The security agencies of Mexico and the United States are looking for him for being the main generator of violence in the state of Colima; in addition to being a priority objective for both governments.
“El Chaparrito” is a “significant drug trafficker”
“El Chaparrito” was listed as a “significant drug trafficker” and drug transfer operator for the CJNG in the port of Manzanillo, Colima.
The detainee was airlifted in a Black Hawk helicopter of the Mexican Navy from the municipality of Zapopan to the FGR heliport, where he was placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry, attached to the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime (FEMDO).
The US Government emphasized that, through Manzanillo, the CJNG collects large quantities of synthetic drugs that contain fentanyl, a lethal substance that reaches Mexico mostly from China.
