On August 17, it was reported that Alberto Aguilera Jr., the eldest son of the late Mexican singer Juan Gabriel, had been arrested and handed over to the authorities in El Paso, Texas.

At the time, the specific reasons for his arrest were not confirmed, but there is a possible reason for his arrest since he has a history that has placed him in the middle of controversy.

It is known that in 2012 he had problems with the local police for the crime of harassment of a public servant. He even took a process after being convicted of the charge and was sentenced to 5 years probation, 200 hours of community service, and a fine of $500. However, in 2015 he violated the terms of his probation, and the sentence was extended to July 19, 2022.

However, this is not the only legal problem in which Juan Gabriel’s adopted son has been involved, as, before his death, the singer put his distance due to the multiple scandals in which he was involved.

It is important to point out that Alberto, who was adopted by the Divo de Juarez when he was 12 years old, has been facing alcohol addiction problems for a long time, as it seems that the multiple losses throughout his life led him to seek refuge in drinks.

Alberto Aguilera was in a rehab clinic in 2019 and was also linked to possession of illicit substances.

As if that were not enough, he has faced lawsuits for family violence and disputes with his siblings over the distribution of Juan Gabriel’s assets, which are still ongoing.

The news comes just a few days before the sixth anniversary of the singer’s death of ‘Abrázame Muy Fuerte’ and in the middle of the release of “Ya,” the last single Juan Gabriel recorded with El Recodo.
