discreetly, Anya Taylor-Joy married in the United States.

As reported yesterday by the Page Six portal, the protagonist of ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ recently married the actor and musician Malcolm McRae.

The 26-year-old actress is currently filming the feature film ‘Furiosa’, a prequel to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (2015) directed by George Miller, in Australia, but would have flown to her native country for the ceremony. The couple plans to hold a bigger celebration in the future, when they both return to North American territory.

Until the closing of this edition, neither the actress nor her husband, 27, had expressed themselves on social networks about the link.

The couple made their red carpet debut in March at a Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. The next month, both reappeared together at the English premiere of ‘The Northman’, a film in which the actress has a role.

In recent months there have been rumors of a possible engagement, after Taylor-Joy was seen in Sydney with a ring, but she did not comment on it.

The star of ‘Last Night in Soho’ (2021) has spoken little about his relationship with the musicianbut in a recent interview with British Vogue, he mentioned that they both share a love of reading.

“The other day, I told him that he is my hobby. For me, reading is something I have to do. He loved it because he is just like me. I have finally found someone who can happily sit quietly with me and read. We are basically like people who are 80 years old and 9 years old at the same time, and it works very well for us,” she said.

He also indicated that his work commitments made it difficult to have a long-distance relationship, but that she was happy with her courtship.

“I was never good at dating and I’m so glad I’m not. I hear stories from my friends and I’m like, ‘God, I’d be a mess,’” she said.

Taylor-Joy was born in Miami, Florida, and is the daughter of an Argentine father and a British mother. Last year she was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series for ‘The Queen’s Gambit.’ This Netflix show is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Walter Tevis, about a young chess prodigy.
