They investigate two tennis coaches for allegedly sexually abusing players

Two tennis coaches are being investigated after they were accused by two women of alleged sexual abuse.

The English portal The Telegraph reported that the tennis players have denounced on several occasions in recent weeks. The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) is investigating to prevent another case similar to that of the Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai.

Peng, a former world No. 1 tennis doubles player, published an accusation about former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli on the Chinese social networking site Weibo in early November. The tennis player alleged that she was forced to have sex with Zhang.

The 75-year-old politician was China’s deputy prime minister between 2013 and 2018, a time when he was one of President Xi Jinping’s close allies.. He has not commented on Peng’s complaint. Peng Shuai’s post was removed minutes later.

Peng, 35, disappeared from the public eye for nearly three weeks after accusing Zhang Gaoli, a top Chinese minister, of sexual assault.

Recently, former tennis player Andrea Jaeger reported that she suffered harassment and abuse for much of her career and even pointed out that the WTA threatened her and some of his relatives so that he would not report the abuse when he was playing.

Jaeger, 57, recounted that when she was 15 she had to change her clothes in hidden dressing rooms and avoid being harassed. On one occasion they even gave her drinks and an officer tried to kiss her.

“I had at least 30 incidents with a specific member of staff, physical attempts, all in the locker room very, very early in my career. That particular staff member had a major problem keeping her hands to herself. She also avoided me staying alone in the training rooms because she would come up to me there too,” Jaeger expressed.

“They told me, ‘If you say one more word about this, we’ll make sure your sister’s scholarship to Stanford is withdrawn.’. Every time I tried to defend myself, they threatened to hurt someone else.”
