They release the first long trailer of “Being the Ricardos”, where Nicole Kidman gives life to Lucille Ball

A month after its theatrical release, Amazon prime releases the first long trailer of “Being the Ricardos”, starring Nicole Kidman, who plays the legendary American actress Lucille ball, and Javier Bardem, who plays the Cuban actor Desi arnaz.

“Being the Ricardos” is a biographical film of the couple of actors Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, who not only shared the stage, but also their lives, through a marriage that turned stormy.

The tape is produced by Amazon Studios, and reflects the rise to fame of Lucille Ball, who in addition to becoming an acting star, was also a successful television director and producer.

Lucille Ball’s autobiographical film

In the plot the successful series is remembered “I Love Lucy”, starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, who married in 1940.

In the trailer, Kidman, an Australian-born actress, is seen as Lucille Ball while filming “I Love Lucy.” It is seen as she prepares to enter the scene, and gives the best of herself for her audience, along with Arnaz, with whom she shares the stage in the fun series of the 50s.

In the series, Ball is the wife of Ricardo (Arnaz), a conductor. The couple lives in New York, and they experience a series of funny situations.

But that good relationship between the protagonists of the series is far from the true relationship that the couple of actors had in real life.

Stormy life of the actor couple

And not only that, her professional and married life, already stormy at times, is further complicated because the star faces an investigation by the FBI, for allegedly being a member of the Communist Party, which would have been registered in 1936, according to what was published by the site The Hollywood Reporter.

In the images released this Wednesday, it reflects part of the chaotic life that the couple lived, which ended up divorcing in 1960.

The tape covers a complicated week of recording of “I Love Lucy”, considered one of the most successful series of all time in America.

In one of the scenes, the Spanish actor Javier Barden, who plays Ball’s husband, tells him: “If they boo you, we’re done.”

In the film they also appear JK Simmons, who plays William Frawley, and Nina arianda as Vivian Vance, who are neighbors and friends of the couple in “I love Lucy.”

Lucille Ball died on April 26, 1989 and Desi Arnaz on December 2, 1986.

The film opens in December

“Being the Ricardos” opens in theaters on December 10 and on Prime Video on December 21.

Within hours of its release, the trailer has more than 43,000 views.
