Tom Hanks could have become the most famous crew member of space travel organized by Blue Origin, a company run by Jeff bezos, founder of Amazon, had he been willing to pay the $ 28 million it cost have a ticket for such an adventure.

During a recent appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, He was himself Tom who revealed that Jeff offered him a seat on the aircraft to participate in the launch, last month, but what declined the proposal due to its high cost and which in the end ended up being made by Canadian William Shatner, star of ‘Star Trek’ at 90 years of age.

“Yes, it is true, but all this on the condition that he pay. You know, costs about $ 28 million or something like that. The truth is that I’m fine like this, Jimmy, I’m not complaining, but I’m not up to the task of paying $ 28 million ”, he confessed.

Hanks, who hit the television space to promote his new movie ‘Finch,’ added that a 12-minute trip was not worth a tremendous sum of money.

“We are talking about a 12-minute flight, aren’t we? Well, we can recreate it right here in our seats. I don’t need to spend $ 28 million to do this“, said.

If the opportunity had been presented to him for free, the actor would not have been too shy about accepting it to experience firsthand one of the great advantages of being a “billionaire.”

“Well, I’d do it just to enjoy this experience and pretend I’m a billionaire,” he joked.

Shatner and Hanks aren’t the only Hollywood stars who have been offered to leave our planet.

Last year, it was announced that Tom cruise would travel to space to shoot a new movie, along with director Doug Liman. The film is a joint effort between NASA’s SpaceX program and Elon musk.

Also, in early October, Russian actress Yulia Peresild was the first film artist to travel into space to film scenes for the first fictional movie in orbit.
