The Spider-Man Homecoming trilogy starring Tom Holland comes to an end with “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which hits theaters this Friday, December 17 with some surprises.

“The biggest news is that the identity of Spider-Man is revealed for the first time. Now Peter Parker is the most famous person on the planet ”, explains Holland, whom we were able to interview along with his co-stars. Zendaya Y Jacob Batalon, who play MJ and Ned Leeds, Spider-Man’s best friends.

The film opens with the superhero in trouble, because fame comes to him “for the wrong reasons,” according to Holland. He becomes the most wanted criminal and turns to Doctor Strange for help. But that help ends up complicating things even more and Spider-Man will have to face old enemies like The Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Electro, played by Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx, which take up the characters from previous Spider-Man sagas.

“It was incredible,” exclaims Batalon. “We are all huge fans of them. They are legends in their own right. Seeing them right there working was surreal, incredible. The 8-year-old boy inside me was delighted.

And is that Batalon, Zendaya and Holland are barely 25 years old. The three actors and friends were born the same year, in 1996. When they started working on “Spider-Man: Homecoming” they were barely 19 years old. Today they are stars.

“We all knew that making three movies was a possibility, although it always depends on whether the audience likes what you’re doing,” Holland explains. “We are very lucky with the positive response to the first two films they have seen.”

“But it’s crazy to be here today. I feel like it was yesterday when I was 19 years old and we met ”, continues the English actor. “But at the same time it feels like a lifetime.”

With “No Way Home”, the trilogy is complete. The actors and their characters will, a priori, go their separate ways in the future.

“I hope our characters have a very happy life,” jokes Zendaya. “But I don’t know what will happen to them.”

“They have been three very special films that have allowed us to grow”adds the Californian actress and singer. “We have had an experience that very few people can have. I don’t know what will happen in the future of these characters, but we are extremely grateful for the past and the present ”.

Holland is clear: “I want to prepare for the future of my life, not for the future of my career.”
