Shakira is in the eye of the storm for a particular accusation of plagiarism in her recent song, Bzrp Music Sessions no. 53, in a duet with Argentine producer Bizarrap. 53 in a duet with Argentine producer Bizarrap, an artist accused her of allegedly having based her famous chorus on the melody of his song.

Now it’s for her new quasi-anthem “TQG” duet with Karol G, presumably, the last song she will do about her past relationship with Gerard Piqué that ended stormily, amidst controversy, rumors of infidelity, and non-stop billing with revenge songs.

The alleged plagiarism has nothing to do with the song’s melody, harmony, or rhythm. It is, rather, because of its viralization on social networks, specifically by TikTok, where people began to perform a very sensual step, kneeling on the floor and wiggling their hips, arms and legs from side to side.

The same step made by both artists very close to what seems to be a lake on fire, with sensual dresses and to the rhythm of a very daring reggaeton and while singing: “Y quiere’ volver, ya lo suponía, dándole like a la foto mía, tú buscando por fuera la comida, yo diciendo que era monotonía” (And you want to come back, I already thought so, liking the picture of me, you looking outside for food, me saying it was monotony).

However, a user of social networks identified on TikTok as @tinonaranjo, rescued a video where Michael Jackson and the men of his ballet do the same step on stage; it is not clear the year he did it, but it can be predicted that it was between the nineties.

“The great Michael already invented that little dance. Let’s stop inventing, and everything has already been invented” is the phrase that can be read in the video that has already accumulated more than half a million reproductions, one hundred thousand “likes” reactions, and more than 3 thousand comments where theory has been debated.

Some of the most popular comments were:

“Michael also had his references…Feedd Astaire, among one them. It’s ok to copy ideas if the result is good or improved”, @Mdoc; “What a marvel, Shaki !!!! Such a great job inspired by the king !!!!! I love both of them both !!!! Pure art!”, @tarotmarianamito2016; “would you guys say Michael would be bellako?” asked @reivajblack.

And lastly, “A lot of Michael’s steps are of African origin mixed with steps from before that time added slumming steps is just history,” replied @yenidi2275.
