A 12-year-old girl is in serious condition after being run over this Saturday by one of the cars participating in the Madeira Wine Rally in the Portuguese archipelago.
The test organization reported in a statement that a young spectator “unexpectedly” crossed the route on foot and was run over by one of the participants in the Rally, which had to be interrupted.
The girl received assistance “immediately” from a team from the Madeira medical services who was in the test. After being stabilized, was transferred by ambulance to the Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

Although the organization did not give details about his state of health, local media suggest that his condition is “serious.”
The Madeira Wine Rally held the last of its three tests this Saturday.
