The celebration for Valentine’s Day was tarnished by kidnapping and murder of four University Students when they left a bar, in Zacatecas, a state with high levels of violence due to the dispute between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) and the Northeast Cartel (CDN). According to the authorities, there is still a missing girl and investigations continue to locate her.

The Zacatecas Prosecutor’s Office reported that some witnesses reported that three men and two women were intercepted by an armed commando outside a nightclub, they were put into a vehicle and taken away. 24 hours later they located the car on a state highway number 181, inside were the corpses of four people.
It should be noted that three of the victims were studying at the TECNOLOGICAL University of the Zacatecas state (UTZAC), another the degree in Physical Education in the Meritorious Normal School “Manuel Ávila Camacho”, and one more had barely graduated as a teacher. The bodies have already been identified and handed over to her relatives.
The whereabouts of a 24-year-old girl, identified as Valeria Landeros Calderon, so the research folder is still open. So far, the authorities have not revealed whether this case is related to the drug cartels that operate in the entity.
