On Wednesday, August 9, it was reported that a shooting occurred in the parking lot of Terminal 2 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
According to a press release from the AICM, it was reported that in the early hours of this morning, personnel from the Nezahualcoyotl Municipal Police arrived at the Terminal 2 parking lot in pursuit of a vehicle.

Subsequently, two men drew their weapons and began shooting at the Neza security elements, resulting in two people wounded by gunshot who were in the vehicle.
“In the early hours of today, personnel from the Nezahualcóyotl Municipal Police arrived at the parking lot of Terminal 2, in pursuit of a vehicle. Inside, the aforementioned officers confronted the driver and two passengers of the car with firearms, resulting in two of them being wounded. Personnel from the Navy, AICM security, and the Auxiliary Police of Mexico City provided medical assistance to the injured and security in the area. Two Nezahualcóyotl municipal police officers were handed over to the judicial authorities.”

Likewise, the AICM handed over two municipal police officers from Nezahualcoyotl to the judicial authorities; it was also mentioned that there was no affectation or security risk to any user.

“Actions such as these ratify the commitment of SEMAR and the AICM to ensure the safety of users,” the statement concluded.
So far, the General Directorate of Citizen Security Nezahualcóyotl has not informed about the reason for the chase or the operation of its elements at the Mexico City airport (AICM).
They did not stop for a search.
On the other hand, journalist Carlos Jiménez stated that the shooting started because the car in which three people were on board did not stop for a search.

So under this argument, the security agents of the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl shot at the three people in the car, resulting in a woman being seriously wounded in the head.
