VIDEO: Brooklyn Pastor and Wife Stolen Over $1 Million in Jewelry While Preaching

A Brooklyn pastor famous for his extravagance when it comes to dressing up and displaying eccentric jewelry was robbed with his wife while preaching at a church on Sunday.losing more than $1 million in jewelry, the NYPD reported.

According to the police report, three men entered the Leaders of Tomorrow church with firearms and stole jewelry from Pastor Lamor Miller-Whitehead, whose nickname is “Bishop,” as well as his wife.

A recording of the incident from inside the church obtained by WCBS showed at least one of the robbers pointing a gun at the pastor.

“It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright”, declared the pastor as he raised his hands and lowered himself to the ground. “That ‘it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s something like me declaring that I don’t want to, I’m not going to do anything. Good, because I know they’re coming for me, they’re coming right at me. I don’t want my parishioners to get hurt.”

The pastor explained that one of the thieves took the bishop’s ring, the alliance and the bishop’s chain. Then he had chains under his robe and began to touch his neck to see if he would get any more jewelry.

Whitehead said that men with guns were pointed at the deacons at the door. “My church is traumatized”lament.

New York police said the suspects took more than $1 million worth of jewelry and then fled the church on foot. They later got into a white Mercedes-Benz and were seen traveling east on Avenue D. There were between 20 and 25 parishioners at the church, the NYPD said.

Pastor Whitehead made headlines last month by claiming he was involved in an attempt to negotiate the surrender of a man accused of shooting and killing a Goldman Sanch employee on the New York subway. The suspect was taken into custody by NYPD.

Being cataloged by the media as “ostentatious”, the pastor defended himself on Sunday and argued that it is about him buying what he wants to buy.

“It is my right to buy what I want to buy. If I’ve worked hard for it, I can buy whatever I want“, he sentenced.
