The Cuban outfielder for the Atlanta Braves, Jorge Soler, tied the record for Latinos with the most home runs in the World Series after landing an immense hit that went all over the left field and meant the first three runs of his team in the sixth game of the current Fall Classic.

Soler’s homer that went out at 109.6 miles per hour (MPH) and reached a distance of 446 feet in front of a pitch from Venezuelan Luis García, it was the Cuban’s third homer in this series and led him to tie the all-time lead among Latin Americans in a World Series.

The others who have hit three homers in an Autumn Classic are the Cuban Randy Arozarena (2020, Rays), the Dominican Juan Soto (2019, Nationals), the Venezuelan Pablo Sandoval (2012, Giants), the Dominican Albert Pujols (2011, Cardinals) and the also Cuban Atanasio “Tany” Pérez (1975, Reds).

In addition, Soler also shares the record for most home runs in a postseason series in the Braves franchise.. In this line he tied the Puerto Rican Eddie Rosario (SCLN, 2021), Ryan Klesko (SM, 1995), Marquis Grissom (SDLN, 1995), Lonnie Smith (SM, 1991) and Hank Aaron (SCLN, 1969, SM, 1957).

It should be noted that each home run hit by the West Indian outfielder in this World Series has served to give the Braves the advantage in a game.

In addition to Soler, the only other hitters in Fall Classic history to hit three home runs to put their ninths to win, were Babe Ruth (1926, Yankees), Lou Gehrig (1928, Yankees), Gene Tenace (1972, Athletics), Curtis Granderson (2015, Mets) and George Springer (2017, Astros).
