Video: Ferrán Torres’ penalty miss causes stir at Camp Nou after an altercation with Ansu Fati

After the penalty was awarded, part of the FC Barcelona stands whistled at Ferrán Torres who ended the game without scoring

Spanish attacker Ferrán Torres has become a trend following FC Barcelona’s victory over Valencia CF at the Spotify Camp Nou after a minor altercation with teammate Ansu Fati.

In the 51′ minute of the match, midfielder Hugo Guillamón committed a handball inside the area that required the intervention of the VAR to be decreed as a penalty.

Subsequently came the moment of discussion when Ferrán Torres took the ball, and Ansu tried to take it away from him to make the execution. However, the Spaniard hid the ball from him and said a few words with a visibly upset face.

But the reason for the controversy was when Ferrán took the penalty and sent it out of the goal, wasting an opportunity that could have made it 2-0.

Once the penalty was awarded, part of the blue and white stands that had seen the altercation in the front row was ready to whistle at Ferrán Torres.

In the end, FC Barcelona won the match with a goal scored by Raphinha in the 15th minute, and thus, the team forced Real Madrid to beat Real Betis Balompié, as a defeat would leave the Whites 10 points behind the leaders.
