A shocking Surveillance video captured a teenage girl dumping her newborn into a dumpster in New Mexico, only for the boy to be found alive hours later by three people searching the trash, according to a report.
Alexis Avila, 18, was seen arriving at the dumpster on North Thorp Street in Hobbs at around 2pm last Friday., pulling a black garbage bag out of the car and tossing it into the dumpster, KOB reported.
Six hours later, three people were seen approaching the dumpster and They took out a bag, where the baby was inside.
“Upon arrival, the officers assisted the newborn and the fire department transported the baby to a local hospital. The boy was subsequently transported to another Lubbock hospital for further pediatric treatment, ”police said in a statement. The baby “was in stable condition,” they added.

Police said they were able to retrieve surveillance footage of the incident and then located Avila’s vehicle. She confessed to giving birth to the baby and throwing the newborn into the dumpster, police said.
Avila has been charged with attempted murder and was expected to be arraigned Monday in Lea County District Court.
Joe Imbriale, Owner of Rig Outfitters and Home Storesaid police asked to see his security camera footage Friday night. “Something was not right. I saw the faces of the officers and they didn’t look good. They really didn’t, ”Imbriale told KOB.
“I said, ‘What are we looking for?’ And she says, ‘We’re looking for someone who threw a black bag in your trash can.’ I turned around and said, ‘Please don’t tell me it was a baby,’ ”Imbriale said.
“I was in shock just seeing this,” he added. “I can’t sleep at night just knowing that this baby was thrown into a garbage can like that. Sorry, but who does that? That is wicked. I have no words for that, “he added.
Other cases of abandonment of babies in the country
On January 2, a baby was abandoned in a cardboard box in Alaska, along with a note from its desperate mother, where she assured that she could not afford to feed her baby.
Alaska State Police responded to a report of an abandoned baby found around 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, authorities confirmed in a statement.
The baby was found by Fairbanks resident Roxy Lane, who posted a video on social media showing the note from the mother and the baby, who was wrapped in blankets.
