The live-action Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is getting closer and closer to hitting theaters in Mexico. And with its arrival comes several more surprises that Warner Bros. Mexico has prepared to please fans and also to promote to the maximum a movie that promises to be the most important movie event of the summer. Of course, the beautiful doll has to arrive aboard something and Volaris has designed the means of transportation that will bring the doll to Mexico directly from Barbieland.
Volaris teamed up with Warner Bros Mexico and designed a special plane with a Barbie theme on the fuselage and the color pink as the main protagonist. It is an Airbus A320NEO model that has a capacity for 180 people and is presumed to be one of the newest and most modern aircraft that the airline has.
The company presented it through social networks with a photograph where the entire body of the plane and the logo of the movie can be seen, as well as the actress Margot Robbie throughout the plane’s fuselage. However, through social networks, some Internet users claimed to have seen it in person and captured it on video from the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
The airline informed through an official statement that the alliance with the movie is relevant because its purpose is not only to make a promotion but a statement of similar values that shape the film’s plot and Volaris’ commitment to its customers.
“Beyond what Barbie represents for several generations, this alliance takes on special relevance with the film’s plot,” reported Daniel Gelemovich, Volaris’ marketing and digital director. “Just like the airline born to democratize the skies, Barbie’s vision has adapted to the demand of a more responsible and demanding market for the representation and empowerment of all social groups.”
As if that wasn’t enough, the airline promises that Barbie surprises will not be limited to a themed plane. They warned fans to stay tuned to their official channels as they will have many gifts related to the film and tickets for the coveted fan event to be held in the capital with the presence of Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and America Ferrara.

When is the Barbie fan event in CDMX?
Barbie’s tour around the world will have a special stop in Mexico City and will take place on July 6. The event will dress the capital in pink with a luxurious pink carpet and include the presence of the movie’s main characters.
Margot Robbie (Barbie), Ryan Gosling (Ken), and America Ferrara (Gloria) will walk the pink carpet. In addition, those privileged with tickets to the full event can see 26 minutes of the film in theaters before anyone else.
Barbie is directed by filmmaker Greta Gerwig, which is no small feat. She is a director known for her very particular American independent style, where her stories generally talk about different views of female empowerment. Her films Lady Bird, Little Women, and Frances Ha are testimony to this and have won several major industry awards.
