WhatsApp, the most used messaging application in the world, is working on incorporating a new function that allows its users to continue listening to voice notes without the need to remain in the application.
According to WABetaInfo, a focused on publishing information about the app, the new tool is already available for some users who have the beta version for iOS systems (v22.1.72).
As explained, this functionality allows the user to interact with other chats while listening to a voice memo without interruptions, something that until now is impossible.
Preliminary information indicates that in these cases the player would have three buttons (pause, resume and discard) and it would look like the profile photo of the person sending the recording.
Currently WhatsApp offers the possibility of continuing to listen to an audio without remaining in the chat, only in case it exits the application. In this case the player is displayed in the notification area of the screen.
In WABetaInfo they clarify that at the moment there is no version of the new feature for users with Android devicesNot even for those who have the Beta version of the application installed. However it is believed that the developers are working to create it.
This new change in the WhatsApp player would occur just a few months after the developers incorporated the option to speed up the playback speed of voice memos, something that applications like Telegram had already integrated.
Another function that the application is expected to incorporate in the short or medium term is the third blue check to notify when a user takes a screenshot, either in a private chat or in a group.
For now, if you want to try the new voice notes function, you only need to have an iOS 15 phone and download the WhatsApp beta, which you can do from the Apple Store application repository.
