After months of waiting, filming finally began on “Ellas Son Yo, Gloria Trevi,” a project that will bring to the small screen the story of the famous Mexican singer and three other women who went through a similar situation at the hands of Sergio Andrade. As expected, producer Carla Estrada presented the actress who will play the singer during her first steps in the artistic world and clarified if Scarlet Gruber will also participate.
Last Monday, November 7, the initial press conference for Gloria Trevi‘s bioseries took place. The event was attended by a large part of the cast, from the recognized and beloved icon of the Golden Age of National Cinema, Ignacio López Tarso, to Ingrid Martz, Pamela Vargas, Paulina Maya, Majo Edgar, and Ivanna Benítez.
Among the celebrities was the young woman known as the singer of “Todos Me Miran,” “Con Los Ojos Cerrados,” and “No Querías Lastimarme.” She was wearing a yellow blouse with a bicolor belt at the waist, tousled hair, and abundant bangs, a very characteristic style of the 80s. According to what the producer explained during a meeting with the media, the actress will give life to the well-known singer during her adolescence and youth, from 14 to 21 years of age.
She is Regina Villaverde, who, according to the information she shared in front of the cameras of Edén Dorantes, was selected during the castings that Carla Estrada did around the Mexican Republic. It is said that she is a native of Mexico City, and so far, her age is unknown.
However, thanks to her Instagram account, it is known that she is very active even though she has no publications, as she has 1,756 followers. Regarding her trajectory in the national artistic environment, it is known that this will be her first project for the small screen. She wants to do her best since it is a great opportunity that could propel her to star in other programs.
During a meeting with the media, she confessed that she identifies very much with Gloria Trevi because both “are very dreamy” and revealed that she already had the opportunity to talk with her; although they did not delve into the story, she considers that she is in contact with her participation: “I already talked with her, I did not have much time, but she is very happy with me and I with her, we already want to start this.”

Carla Estrada confessed that so far, she has not yet confirmed who will be the actress who will play Gloria Trevi during her youth and adulthood. Still, it could be Scarlet Gruber, a performer from Caracas, Venezuela. The latter joined Televisa a few years ago with a supporting role in “Sin Tu Mirada,” “Médicos,” and “Si nos Dejan.”
On the other hand, the producer commented that she has already established communication with Mary Boquitas to participate in the project by sharing her version, but: “Not yet, we have talked, she has been very good, but she is seeing with lawyers if she can give us an interview, to share with us all the part of the campaign that we are going to do.”
The producer emphasized that the bioseries will tell the story of four people, mainly Gloria Trevi, and will be made up of 50 chapters that will be released gradually starting in August 2023.
