A few months ago it was announced that Gloria Trevi and her husband Armando Gomez they were being investigated by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) for alleged tax fraud and money laundering.
The alleged complaint was made before the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) considering that the two companies the couple owns in Texas, including Great Tallent LLC, are used to evade taxes in national territory. The UIF complaint was filed against six individuals and eight legal entities, for banking operations totaling around 400 million pesos, according to the newspaper The Economist.
Before the accusations, the legal team of the Monterrey singer spoke out defending her innocence and arguing that there is no investigation or complaint file against Gloria Trevi for embezzlement of funds in tax payments and tax issues.
“To this day we are not aware of any type of research folder nor any investigation that asserts that it has any element or probative data that could determine that there really is some type of conduct that she has displayed that could give rise to some type of criminal offense, “the lawyer for the Monterrey lawyer told the press.
The lawyers of the firm Ramírez Penilla Rubio y Asociados they also announced that Gloria Trevi is willing to cooperate with the authorities so that the facts and the accusations for which it is indicated are clarified.
This is not the first time that the 53-year-old singer and her husband have been charged with tax crimes, as In 2010, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit denounced Gloria Trevi before the then PGR for changing your tax address without giving notice to the Tax Administration Service.
On the other hand, Armando Gómez was arrested in 1999 in the United States for trying to enter Mexico with more than $ 400,000 in cash that they did not have the corresponding declaration. Gloria Trevi’s husband obtained conditional freedom, which he violated when trying to return to Mexico, where in 2005 he was arrested and sentenced to four months in prison, after pleading guilty to smuggling money.

Without giving details about the names, the lawyer Sergio Arturo Ramírez Muñoz also explained that criminal and civil complaints will be filed against people who have made accusations unfounded and lacking any evidence that could determine that Gloria Trevi is linked to some type of crime related to trafficking or abuse of minors.
In the year 2000, Gloria Trevi was arrested after being accused of the crimes of kidnapping, corruption, abuse and rape of minors. The singer was acquitted of these accusations after spending four years in jail.
“Formal accusations are being made by the authorities to people who have been disclosing issues that are private and lacking any probative support and use them to the detriment of another person by making totally false accusations “, declared the lawyer Sergio Ramírez.
After confirming to the media that Legal action is already being taken against people who have defamed and using Gloria Trevi’s name for personal gain, the lawyer Olivia Rubio stated that what they seek with these complaints is not only the reparation of the damage.

“Justice not only has to do with either jail or financial reparation; justice has to do, for example, with an acknowledgment of the factsIn other words, the victim has the right to the truth, to have the fact that harmed him be recognized and to be recognized that the person is innocent, ”said Gloria Trevi’s lawyer.
Olivia Rubio confirmed for the media that the Monterrey singer needs society to recognize that she was a victim and not a perpetrator of the crimes for which she was tried together with her ex-partner, the producer Sergio Andrade.
“Of course there is freedom of expression but it has limits and they are clearly established by the constitution. One cannot harm a person personally and intimately just to make a business out of the person’s life.s ”, argued the lawyer for the interpreter of El recount of damages.
