A woman traveling on a Southwest Airlines flight from Oregon to Las Vegas faces charges of abusing a six-month-old baby girl on the plane.

Police in Las Vegas received a call on July 12, at about 6:30 pm, in which an incident on the flight was alerted.

The arrest report citing 8 News Now indicates that the suspect, identified as Tiffany Brooks, held the baby in her lap while violently shaking her. In addition, the report shows that the woman would have hit the little girl’s legs against the seat and the plane’s wall.

Brooks would have pressed the girl’s face with a sheet to stop her crying, and shook her up and down and sideways, the complaint alleges.

The suspect was the victim’s surrogate mother.

Brooks was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. However, she was released after posting bail. The woman faces child abuse charges.

The minor remains in state custody.
