The arrival of Xavi Hernández to Barcelona has unleashed a wave of optimism and fury around the whole blaugrana, to the point that an important Manchester City footballer would be interested in reaching the culé team.
Raheem Sterling was a figure for many years in Pep Guardiola’s team, however, with the arrival of Jack Grealish, the English striker was losing prominence to the point of becoming a substitute.
This situation would have displeased Sterling who would be looking for new airs and he understands that in the team that Xavi is putting together, he could have many more minutes. In addition, with the World Cup just around the corner, the Manchester City footballer could accelerate his exit in the next winter transfer market.
Barcelona had already shown an interest in the past summer but finally he did not finish convincing his arrival and the negotiation ended up cooling down. However, after the injuries of Braithwaite and Agüero, the Blaugrana team could speed up the signing.
The only drawback that could complicate the negotiation is the high player record, which has a contract until 2023 so Manchester City it will not yield so easily before the pretensions of the Barcelona.
