On Wednesday, Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, spokesman for the Presidency, informed that the YouTube platform suspended “without justification” the account of the Centro de Producción de Programas Informativos y Especiales (Cepropie), which officially broadcasts the morning conferences of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Given such measure, this May 31, the account belonging to the government did not carry out the usual transmission of the morning broadcast.
Ramírez Cuevas asked through social networks the platform to respect the official accounts to broadcast López Obrador’s conferences and to lift the restriction as soon as possible.
It is worth mentioning that the official published this message moments before the end of the conference in the Treasury Room in the National Palace.
Without apparent justification, @YouTube suspended the @Cepropie account that officially transmits the morning conferences. We demand the platform to respect the official accounts to broadcast the conferences of President @lopezobrador_, @GobiernoMX and @cepropie.

Jesús Ramírez Cuevas exposed that canceling the YouTube channel is a censorship strategy.
“There are companies, individuals, politicians and people of bad faith claiming the rights to these transactions and these in turn are retransmitted by ‘N’ citizen accounts, other media, etc., but the images are free to use, there is no right to pay and they are available to all Mexican citizens, even to the international public opinion, so that their use should not be a source of income or illegal,” said the presidential spokesman.
He said that talks have already begun with Google and YouTube to clarify the copyright dispute.

Why does YouTube suspend accounts?
Google’s video platform can suspend an account for several reasons, which include, but are not limited to:
Terms of Service Violation – YouTube has a set of terms of service that all users must follow. If an account violates these terms, such as posting illegal, copyright infringing, violent, spammy, or misleading content, YouTube may suspend the account.
Copyright Infringement: If an account posts copyrighted content without proper permission, YouTube may receive a notice of copyright infringement and suspend the account. YouTube takes copyright claims seriously and has a process to address these situations.
Failure to comply with community guidelines: YouTube has community guidelines that state what type of content is acceptable and what is not. If an account posts content that violates these guidelines, such as sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or harassing to other users, YouTube may suspend the account.
Unauthorized or fraudulent activity: If an account engages in unauthorized or fraudulent activity, such as manipulating views, subscribers, or interactions, YouTube may suspend the account. This includes using bots, automated programs, or any other means to inflate a channel’s popularity artificially.
Repeated policy violations: If an account has been warned or received multiple violations for violating YouTube’s policies in the past, an additional violation may result in account suspension. YouTube considers the account’s history when making suspension decisions.
It is important to note that YouTube’s policies may change over time, so it is always advisable to review the rules continuously.
